Located amongst the lush rolling hills of Franklin, Tennessee, Springhouse at Breezeway is steeped in Southern tradition. From the historic Civil War battlefields located within a few minutes' drive to the on-site historic home, this piece of property embodies the rich heritage of Williamson County.Breezeway - The John Herbert House is the historical centerpiece of Springhouse at Breezeway. Built ca.1830, the Herbert House is a notable example of an early 19th century double-pen log residence with an open breezeway or "dogtrot." The construction of this type of log home was common in Williamson County during this time period; however, few intact examples have survived. Breezeway - The Herbert House exemplifies the very typical evolution of double-pen log residences into frame vernacular Greek Revival design homes. Breezeway - The Herbert House has been deemed a well-preserved log residence and was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.In keeping with the historical significance of the property and in order to properly compliment Breezeway - The Herbert House, the homes of Springhouse at Breezeway are required to be approved by the Architectural Approval Committee for the Home Owner's Association.
